Call for Action

Arthur Christian 20 November at 18:00   The Wardrobe – Help Needed!

Unashamedly copied and pasted from Farren’s ‘Call to Action.

This message is primarily a call to action for my Regimental comrades from The Duke of Edinburgh’s Royal Regiment (Berkshire and Wiltshire) (1 DERR – The Farmers Boys), The Royal Gloucestershire, Berkshire and Wiltshire Regiment (RGBW) and the Rifles.

This is a moment in time where we individually and collectively have the opportunity to dramatically extend our heritage. A significant £330K redevelopment project has recently kicked off to transform the spiritual home of 1 DERR bringing the magnificent Wardrobe, home to The Rifles, Berkshire and Wiltshire Museum into the 21st Century – a living testament to the service we, our forebears and our successors have given and continue to give to our country.

This video gives a flavour of the project’s commencement and asks for your engagement. This project needs and deserves financial support – please dig deep!

We are all hopeful the powerful connection we have with each other and the loyalty to our Regiment(s) that we share will be stirred and we will get behind the project. Please take action now to:

Make a donation

Set up a bequest for the Museum’s future security

Initiate a fundraiser – ‘every little helps!’

Get behind the Supporters Wall concept.

A link to the ‘Update 25’ page will be uploaded to the RGBW Association website in Comments. From there you can find links to the Supporters Wall and the flythrough video showing the scale and plan for the redevelopment. The video can also be found on YouTube and I will put the link to that in a separate comment below or you can copy and paste this link

There is a flyer for the Supporters Wall and I will include that separately and please look at the RGBW Association website, including FAQs: Update25 – Help us to bring our history to life – The RGBW & Rifles Regimental Association.

Finally, you can use The Supporters Wall to support this project AND recognise comrades who we’ve lost or those still with us. Put a Tile together to celebrate a mate, a relative, a team and share the cost with your mates. I can see groups coming together to recognise legends we’ve lost like: Lee Tandy and Kev Pullin and legends still with us like Mark Morgans-Hurley and Gary Cross. There are so many more. A number of the officers have combined to remember Richard Allen, Graham Barlow and Phil King through the Supporters Wall.

So – put your own story together (so your family will be able to learn about your service in the future) or, either alone or with a mate(s) – commit to putting a tile together to recognise a comrade you admire.

Connect with me directly if you’d like to discuss – I’d welcome talking with you!

Thank you!
