Memory Lane
The regimental museum has been collating and gathering images from the Regiments past for a number of years. The DERR section on the Museum website at present numbers 9238, of which about 8000 are photographic images.
The museum in the past has published a photographic book for the DERR but time has moved on with many more images becoming available. The problem in every case is identification (Who, what, why and where).
Very often information is sparse. Many members of the regiment carried cameras with images taken from many locations around the world. But most think of these items as uninteresting ‘Snaps’.
As time moves forward these images become more important in demonstrating the history of our Regiment. Every time we receive further information it is easy to update the record.
We will send to The Web Orderly Sergeant various images in the hope that members from the relevant time can provide up to date information.
